Six Nations Rugby

There is nowhere quite like the pub to enjoy the atmosphere of a major sporting occasion like the Six Nations Rugby. Whether it’s feelings of agony or ecstasy, the pub gives you a shoulder to cry on and a drink to celebrate or commiserate the action.

Guinness Six Nations 2020

This Six Nations is going to be especially exciting, after the enthralling Rugby World Cup campaign played out in Japan over the autumn of last year. England came up short in the final against a rampant South Africa side, shattering fans’ dreams of lifting the Webb Ellis trophy once again. While Wales also had an impressive campaign, Scotland and Ireland perhaps didn’t live up to their lofty expectations before the tournament started.

As current Six Nations champions, Wales will be the scalp everybody is after and they kick off this year’s tournament at home to Italy on Saturday 1st February. Ireland start their campaign at home against Scotland on Saturday 1st February and England travel to Paris to face France on Sunday 2nd February.

Over the course of the opening weekend, the pub will give you a chance to dig out your inner pundit with your mates, analysing all the action and taking part in debates long after the final whistle – with a pint of cold, crisp lager or a creamy Guinness.

The other reason not to miss out on the Six Nations at your local pub is the amount of great deals publicans put on during the tournament. Whether it’s extended happy hours, discounted beers or even free drink vouchers, many pubs will be putting on something special to bring in the fans.

So, what are you waiting for? Make sure you’re supporting your local while cheering on your team during this year’s Six Nations tournament.
