The Black Swan is one of the country’s most haunted pubs. Regular sightings include the ghost of a highwayman who can be heard singing along to Irish folk songs in the corner of the bar late at night. Other apparitions include an impatient gentleman in a bowler hat and the spirit of a beautiful young jilted bride.

Customers have also claimed that there is a young pickpocket, affectionately known as Matthew, who is often blamed for the disappearance of various items behind the bar.

Join us this Halloween and raise a glass to Matthew…(just make sure to your wallet in your pockets!)
